The tundra can be unpredictable in autumn – a beautiful hike in the sunshine can quickly turn into snowfall and cold weather. Even in summer, conditions can change suddenly. In July 1895, postman Johan Erik Sundstrøm froze to death while crossing Beaskádas after a sudden drop in temperature and a snowstorm.

The colors of Čakčaduottar Mohair are inspired by the autumn tundra – golden yellow, reddish tones and clear green mountain lakes. The pattern includes elements inspired by the Agneterose motif, known from Sea Sámi mitten knitting.
