Gárasavvon is a colourful sweater with a pattern from traditional Sami mittens from Sweden's northernmost town, Karesuando.
Small-patterned mittens with borders or bands are common in several places in Sápmi, and these borders are often found in the local weaving tradition. The Karesuando mitten is unique with its repeating pattern reports at regular intervals throughout the mitten, and it is usually knitted with a red base colour and otherwise with blue, yellow, and green, colours often found in Sami duodji.
Gárasavvon is knitted from the bottom up and has a yoke with raglan decreases.
