Gárasavvon - Karesuando Pickles edition Norwegian Knitting Pattern

Gárasavvon is a colorful sweater with a pattern inspired by traditional Sami mittens
from Sweden's northernmost settlement, Karesuando.

Small-patterned mittens with borders or bands are common in several places in Sápmi, and
these borders are often found in the local weaving tradition.
The Karesuando mitten is distinctive for its pattern repeats that appear at regular
intervals across the entire mitten, and it is often knitted with a red background color and otherwise
with blue, yellow, and green, colors often found in Sami duodji.
