Flávda features colors inspired by the Sámi flag. The flag is a shared international symbol of the Sámi people and reflects traditional Sámi design.

The red, blue, yellow and green colors are commonly found in Sámi gákti, while the divided circle symbolizes the sun and the moon, as well as Sámi unity. The circle is also a traditional symbol found on Sámi noaidi drums.
