Nanna incorporates patterns from a pair of Porsanger mittens knitted by Nanna Guttorm in the 1960s.

Nanna Guttorm was Kven, born and raised in Ildskog, Porsanger. She was a skilled craftswoman in all areas of sewing, weaving, and knitting, and many residents of Porsanger wore gákti (traditional Sami garments) made by the skilled gákti seamstress.
